This is to inform the general public, especially the concerned candidates seeking admission into the University of Ilorin that the school has just released another admission list. Are you one of the UNILORIN admission seekers thinking admission has ended for the institution? You may love to know that another list is in the air.

Following the CAPS introduced by JAMB, it seems releasing of admission list is now a continual process. Hence all applicants should endeavour to recheck their JAMB CAPS for this updated list immediately. Please see the important notice below

  1. You will need your JAMB email and its password to check CAPS. See how to check CAPS here

UNILORIN to Hold Post-UTME in Two Batches. For Early Choice and Change to UNILORIN

Are you an aspirant of the University of Ilorin? Are you worried about the turbulence of admission issues this year? Are you confused with whether you can still do change of institution to UNILORIN or you had earlier changed to UNILORIN but was unable to register for their post UTME because you couldn’t log in to proceed for post-UTME registration? ATTENTION PLEASE!
This is to inform all candidates who made the University of Ilorin their first choice in the 2017/2018 admission exercise and scored 180 and above in the UTME that online registration for Post-UTME screening exercise has commenced.

Online registration for FIRST BATCH of candidates will end at MIDNIGHT on WEDNESDAY 13th September, 2017 while SECOND BATCH screening registration instructions will follow shortly.

The FIRST BATCH screening exercise will start on MONDAY, 11th September, 2017 and will end on SATURDAY, 16th September, 2017 both at the Ilorin and Lagos Centres.

What this means is that JAMB has earlier sent the list of candidates who chose UNILORIN to the school. Meanwhile the school has only uploaded this list to their database for post UTME registration.

Hence, if you did change of institution or coursesto UNILORIN after they had done that, you won’t be in their database.

Also, those who intend to change to them now, will face the same issue.

Meanwhile, with this update released by UNILORIN, you can proceed to change of institutions to the school and you will be available for post UTME registration the second batch application.

If also, you had done the change of institution but couldn’t proceed to registration of post UTME, please relax and wait for second batch post UTME registration.

UNILORIN Pre-Admission Screening Instructions

All candidates are advised to click on Pre-Admission Screening Instructions and carefully read the Registration Instructions.

  1. On the Admission Menu displayed on the left-hand side, click Pre-Admission Screening Instruction and read carefully.
  2. Type in your JAMB Registration Number and SURNAME in the boxes provided. Carefully type in your JAMB Registration Number as any error committed will not allow your details to be displayed.

Thereafter,

  • UTME candidates should click on the Get Details button for your JAMB information;

  • DE candidates should click OK button on the dialog box displayed and enter their names; and

  • Click on Make Payment link to go to WEBPAY page. Note: UTME Candidates who are qualified for the courses originally chosen can proceed to make payment by supplying the required information. However, UTME Candidates who are not qualified for the course originally chosen are advised to change their course as indicated on the payment page. Note that the sum of N2,500 is charged for change of course.

  1. Make Payment

  • Select your ATM card type (e.g Verve or Master Card)
  • Enter your Card Number
  • Enter Card Expiry Date and the card CVV2  (the 3 digits on the reverse side of the card and lastly enter your card pin; and
  • Then click on Pay.

Please note:  (Do not Refresh your browser while the process is going on to avoid multiple deductions from your account. If nothing is displayed after 10 minutes, close the browser and restart).

  1. After Login, click on Continue Registration Link on the main menu.
  2. Fill in your other bio-data and necessary details truthfully on the webpage. All candidates should upload their Passports by clicking on Browse button and select your picture. Your Passport must not be more than 80KB.

    PASSPORT SPECIFICATION
      • Acceptable format is JPEG.
      • Picture must be digital passport photograph.
      • Resolution must be at least 200 DPI.
      • Dimension should not be less than 600 × 600 pixels.
      • Each photograph should capture the head and top of the shoulders so that the face take up to 70-80% of the photograph.
      • Show the eyes looking directly at the camera.
      • Show skin tone naturally.
      • Have a uniform red background.
      • Maximum of 80kb.

    SIGNATURE SPECIFICATION

      • Signature must be clearly scanned.
      • Acceptable format is JPEG.
      • Resolution must be at least 200 DPI.
      • Dimension should not be less than 134 × 33 pixels.
      • Signature should be in black ink and should be on a plain background with no lines.
      • Signature must be clear and bold.
      • Maximum of 15kb.
  3. On completion of bio-data. click on Next Step button then click OK on the message dialog box.
  4. All Direct Entry (DE) candidates should complete the programme of choice and click on Save then click OK on the message dialog box.
  5. On completion of choice of Institution click Next Step button.
  6. For Direct Entry (DE) candidates;

    • Direct Entry candidates are required to select their Highest Academic Qualification(s) from the drop down and click on Save. On the dialog box click OK;
    • To add more Higher Academic Qualifications click on qualifications drop down to select your additional qualifications, click on save; and
    • Click on Next Step.

  1. All candidates (UTME and DE) are required to supply their O' level (O/L) details as follows:

  • Pick Number of sitting(s) by clicking on the drop-down button
  • Enter all the required O' level (O/L) details; Pick as applied in your result; and
  • Click on Submit button then click OK on the message dialog box.

  1. Click Scheduling Tab. All candidates must select a screening centre from the drop-down menu. Note that an alert will be immediately sent to your e-mail provided in your bio-data.
  2. Click Print Tab to print out the following:

  • Pre-Admission Screening Registration form;
  • Scheduling Slip; and
  • Payment Receipt.

Note: All candidates are expected to be at the screening centre an hour before their scheduled time with the above printouts and be decently dressed inline with the University of Ilorin Dress Code.

2017/2018 UNILORIN Remedial Form is Still on sales. Read Details

This is to inform the general public, most especially the intending applicants that University of Ilorin Remedial Programmes form for this year is finally on Sales.

UNILORIN Remedial Admission Requirements
1. Arts and Arts Education:
Applicants must pass five subjects at Credit level at not more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organised by WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and should include the major subjects of study. Note that Credit grades in English Language and Mathematics are compulsory for eventual admission into any programme at the University of Ilorin.
Two of the five subjects must be from Arts while the other three subjects may be from the Social Sciences.

Note: There is no preliminary programme in B.A. (Hons.) English

2. Agriculture, Engineering and Technology, Environmental Sciences and Science Education, Technology Education and Educational Technology
Applicants must pass the following subjects at credit level; English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics        at not more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organised by WAEC/NECO and NABTEB

UNILORIN Remedial Specific requirements:
Faculty of Agriculture will accept Credit grade in Agricultural science in lieu of Credit grade in Biology.

DUNILORIN Remedial Duration of Programme:
The programme is for a duration of two semesters (one academic session).

Eligibility for UNILORIN Remedial:
The preliminary programme is primarily opened to applicants from the Catchment States of the University of Ilorin, (i.e.    Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa, Niger, Plateau, Sokoto and Zamfara States.
UNILORIN Remedial General Conditions:
Candidates who want to study Engineering must obtain Credit grades in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and sit for Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics at the 2017/2018 JAMB/UTME. Candidates MUST write the 2017/2018 JAMB/UTME with relevant subject combination to any programme in either Arts or Sciences and MUST obtain the minimum UTME approved cut off point by the University.

Consideration for admission into programmes shall be based on performance and quota for each programme. Applicants are to note that the programme is residential.

UNILORIN Remedial Venue of Programme:
The venue of the programme shall be at the School of Preliminary Studies, Fufu, Ilorin South Local Government Headquarters, Kwara State. 

UNILORIN Remedial Method of Application :
Candidates are to visit the university of Ilorin website http://www.unilorin.edu.ng
And follow the link for the 2017/2018 SPS Application. Application forms to be completed online after a payment of N15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Naira Only) application fee using interswitch enabled ATM card either Master or Verve card.
After the completion of the form, each candidate MUST Download a Local Government Confirmation Form which MUST Be endorsed by the Chairman/ Secretary of the local Government Area.

A candidate who is offered admission will be expected to bring the form and SSCE/GCE certificates/result slips during registration.

Master in Business Administration (MBA)                                                                         
The duration of the Programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 24 calendar months and a maximum period of 36 calendar months for Full-Time; and a minimum period of 36 calendar months and a maximum period of 48 calendar months for Part –Time. Areas of specialization include: Accounting, Marketing, Personnel, Finance, General Management and Operations Management.

Master in Geographic Information Systems (MGIS)
The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months. This Programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.

Master in Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR)                                                             
The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and a maximum period of 30 calendar Months. Areas of specialization include: Labour Management Relations, Personnel and Human Resources Management; Industrial Conflict and Dispute Resolution; and Labour Law. This programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.

Master in Public Administration (MPA)                                                                             
The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months. Areas of specialization include: Public Finance, Budgeting, Personnel Management, Public Policy and Development Administration. This programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.

Master in Health Planning and Management (MHPM),
The duration of the programme shall be a minimum of 12 calendar  months and maximum of 24 calendar months.

Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (PGDGIS)                             
The duration of the programme shall normally be a minimum period of 12 calendar months and a maximum period of 18 calendar months. This programme is available on Full-time basis ONLY.

Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM)                                  
The duration of the programme shall normally be a minimum of 12 calendar months and a maximum of 18 calendar months. This programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.

Professional Master in Information Technology (MIT)
There are three mode of study structured as follows:
  • Full Time: this mode of study will run for a minimum of 18 calendar months and a maximum of 36 calendar months
  • Part Time: this mode of study will run for a minimum of 30 calendar months and a maximum of 48 calendar months
  • Executive: this mode of study will run for a minimum of 42 calendar months and a maximum of 60 calendar months

ELIGIBILITY FOR PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMES

Master in Business Administration (MBA)                                                             
Candidates for admission into the MBA Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Holders of professional qualifications such as ACA, ACMA AIB ACIS, CIBN, ACTS or HND (Upper Credit) must possess a postgraduate Diploma Certificate in Strategic Management from the University of Ilorin with a Minimum average weighted score of 60%. All candidates should have at least Five (5) Credit Passes at the Ordinary Level (O/L), Including English Language and Mathematics irrespective of field of study.

Master in Geographic Information Systems (MGIS)                                              
Candidates for admission into the MGIS Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University,. Holders of professional qualifications such as HND with a minimum of five (3) years post –qualification experience are also eligible to apply.

Master in Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR)                                                 
Candidates for admission into the MILR degree Programme shall normally possess a honours degree of the University of Ilorin, or from any other recognized University.

Master in Public Administration (MPA)                                                                 
Candidates for admission into the MPA degree Programme shall normally possess a minimum of Third Class Honuors in any discipline from the University of Ilorin, or any other recognized University.

Master in Health Planning and Management (MHPM),
A candidate to be admitted shall:
(a)     Hold an honours first degree in Health Planning and Management, or related field, OR  Have an honours degree in a discipline other than Health Planning and Management, plus at least 3 years experience in Health Planning, Research and Statistics or other relevant Departments after graduation, OR Hold an honours first degree in other discipline, but must in addition, possess postgraduate certificate or Diploma in Health Planning and Management or related fields from recognized Institutions; OR a pass degree in Health Planning and Management or related discipline, plus 3 years experience OR any other qualification approved by Senate of the University.

(b).  A minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division in any of the above. In addition, all candidates must have O’ level credits in English and Mathematics.

Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (PGDGIS)                 
Candidates for admission into the GIS postgraduate diploma Programme shall normally possess a recognized Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Third Class Honours or HND or their equivalent, in Geography, Environmental Science, the Sciences, other Social Science, Forestry, Engineering, Architecture, Town Planning etc. Notwithstanding the above, candidate with substantial work experience who have attained managerial positions may still be considered for admission on individual merit.

Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM)                                  
Candidates for admission into the PGDSM shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification such as ICAN or HND certificate with a minimum of Lower Credit from recognized Institutions.

Professional Master in Information Technology (MIT)
All candidates applying for this programme must possess the following:
  • At least credit pass in a minimum of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings, and any of the following:
  • A Bachelor Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related field, with a minimum of Second Class Honor (Lower Division) or Lower Credit grade, or
  • A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related field, with a Third Class and a minimum of 1 year IT-related working experience, or
  • A Bachelor Degree with a minimum of Second Class Honor (Lower Division) or its equivalent in any field of study with a minimum of 3 years IT-related working experience which may involve planning, development, operation and maintenance of Information Systems, or
  • A Bachelor Degree with a Third Class in any field of study with a minimum of 5 years IT-related working experience which may involve planning, development, operation and maintenance of Information Systems.

NOTE: All applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Degree Programmes will be subjected to a written assessment (qualifying examination) irrespective of the class of degree obtained. The qualifying examination will be held at the Ilorin Business School, (beside Student Union Building) University of Ilorin on Saturday 23rd of September 2017 at 9:30am. Mount Kenya University (MKU) will start a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree; Accepting  Diploma in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology Mount Kenya University (MKU) will start a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree for students progressing from Diploma in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology following the approval of its plan by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

The progression study will be known as Bachelor of Pharmacy (Diploma Entry) Programme.

The PPB, in approving the MKU implementation plan for the programme in January, indicated that the arrangement was in tandem with its credit waiver policy guidelines for progression from diploma in pharmacy or pharmaceutical technology to bachelor of pharmacy degree.

After Npower physical verification, What Next?

This is the question several preselected applicants in the 2017 round of Npower scheme had been asking on the body’s official twitter handle. The preselected 2016 N-build applicants are equally concerned about what the next course of action is.
N-power has initially made it clear that not all the 300,000 applicants shortlisted will be eventually selected for the jobs. Some applicants will be disqualified because of certain irregularities including; over-age, lack of claimed qualifications/credentials and the likes. And the support team has promised applicants on the waiting list to be ready as replacement for such disqualified applicants.

Meanwhile, the support team has said the verified applicants to wait for the “next communication” or update from them and avoid reading from unofficial sources.
