How to Gain Admission to Universities Without JAMB UTME

Other Ways to Gain Admission to Universities Without JAMB

It is getting too important to find a way to gaining admission into universities of choice by candidates seeking admission without necessarily passing or writing JAMB UTME. Attention is directed to this because year in year out, candidates seeking admission are ending up being frustrated by the Joint Admission Examination Board, JAMB system

In fact, one can easily agree that JAMB UTME is not the best test of a candidate’s academic ability. This is obvious with lots of technical anomalies leading to mass failure at various CBT centres being used by JAMB. JAMB itself had recently sanctioned some centres for gross technical misconducts.

Hence, I dedicate this post to all interested candidates who want to look at other possible (and probably better) ways to gain admissions to their interned universities.

Gain Admission to Universities Without JAMB UTME through JUPEB

Meanwhile, thousands of aspiring candidates seeking admission into various universities are not aware of the secret others are using to gain such without JAMB UTME. Fortunately, with channel like JUPEB, you will not only easily gain admission to university but straight to 200 level of your desired or available course.

The post below takes you through what JUPEB is and why you should annex its power to bypass the JAMB UTME denying you your birth right.

So, what is JUPEB?

The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is the national examinations body approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria in December 2013. It was formally established in April 2014 by a consortium of ten (10) partnering universities led by the University of Lagos.

The board has the responsibility of conducting common and standard examinations for the candidates, who have been exposed to a minimum of one-year approved courses in the different Universities' Foundation and/or Diploma Programmes and are seeking Direct Entry admissions into University courses at the 200 Level in Nigerian and partnering foreign universities.

List of Universities participating Accepting JUPEB for Admission

Apart from partnering universities, other universities in Nigeria are free to affiliate with JUPEB in order to present candidates for its examinations. Current affiliates include:
  1. Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State
  2. Adeleke University, Ede. Osun StateAfe Babalola

You can also see the newest (updated) list of affiliated JUPEB centres and partner universities.. Visiting the list will help you know if their admission forms for JUPEB is on sales

As the matter of facts, candidates who have been chasing admissions into any of the above mentioned schools through JAMB UTME but being cut short, can use JUPEB as the short-cut. If you need short cut, really to admission, use JUPEB. It is faster and catapults you into 200 level straight.

Important Notice for JUPEB Prospective Applicants

Please note that after completion of your JUPEB at any of the schools above you can apply for JAMB direct Entry (which doesn’t involve writing UTME) and choose any of the members’ schools or the school where you completed the programme.

You however, stand higher chance to gain admission to your mother institution than others though.

Gain Admission to Universities without JAMB UTME - Through IJMB

Of course, just like JUPEB, IJMB is another short cut to gaining admission to your interested university and desired course. Most interestingly, this will equally give you admission to 200 level instead of 100 level.

IJMB means Interim Joint Matriculation Board; an Advanced Level (A'level)  9-month programme being supervised, run and moderated by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and IJMB was setup to serve as an alternative method of gaining admission into a tertiary institution in Nigeria into 200 level via Direct Entry (D.E) form.

Just as the University of Lagos supervises JUPEB programme, and University of Cambridge supervises Cambridge A Level in Nigeria, so also ABU, Zaria is to IJMB.

IJMB allows successful students to get admissions into 200 level of almost all Nigerian universities.

Candidates can actually study any course of their choice with this interesting programme including but not limited to Medicine, Law, Accounting, Business Administration, Mass comm. Linguistics etc. You can see the list of Nigerian universities that accept IJMB into 200 level in the link below.

Normally, IJMB  is supposed to be 10 months program, but since students are not going to resume at the same time, hence some students only ended up spending between 7 months and 5 months throughout the IJMB programme.

Gain Admission to National Open University of Nigeria.

Another easiest way to bypass JAMB and gain admission for your degree is through Federal government owned distance learning course - called NOUN.

National Open University was intended to help students work and study at the same time. Isn't that great? But today, you don't necessarily be working before you can become a student of NOUN.

I posted a complete guide to gaining admission to NOUN recently. Most readers were surprised to see that the likes of former president Olusegun Obasanjo were graduates of the school. Also, some popular Nollywood actors and actresses were already or once students of the school.

And of course, you gain admission to this university with ordinary SSCE results. Some graduates with NCE, ND, HND or Bsc can also further their education at NOUN.

You can read further about the National open University through their official page.

Gain Admission Through CAMBRIDGE A’Level Nigeria Programme

Cambridge A-level (CAMBRIDGE A\'Level Nigeria) is a national examinations body approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria in December 2013. It was formally established in April 2014 by a consortium of ten (10) partnering universities led by the University of Ibadan.

It is of the acronym Cambridge A-level, It is an Approved, Proven & Certified Advanced level programme moderated by Cambridge University, UK and having coordinating body in various tertiary institutions and different study centres nationwide. The programme is specifically designed to provide an opportunity for candidates who cannot gain admission to regular degree programmes in Nigerian Universities for one reason or the other, as the programme only requires candidates O’level results, JAMB result, Also awaiting result candidate can Enroll and this time around into 200 level

Prospective CAMBRIDGE A'Level Nigeria candidates are required to select any THREE (3) A/L CAMBRIDGE A'Level Nigeria Subject Combination plus Generel studies (English Language) identified with their preferred course of study in the university be it Science, Art or Social Science Course.

Candidates would then be lectured for the stipulated period at their respective Study Centre and thereafter sit for the final examination. On completion of the programme, successful candidates accordingly utilize their CAMBRIDGE A'Level Nigeria certificate to secure admission into 200level in any Nigeria tertiary institution via JAMB Direct Entry (DE)

Then why is admission being treated as if it's God in this country? The answer is you don't know how others are making it. Give any of the above attempts.

Wishing you luck!

After Npower physical verification, What Next?

This is the question several preselected applicants in the 2017 round of Npower scheme had been asking on the body’s official twitter handle. The preselected 2016 N-build applicants are equally concerned about what the next course of action is.
N-power has initially made it clear that not all the 300,000 applicants shortlisted will be eventually selected for the jobs. Some applicants will be disqualified because of certain irregularities including; over-age, lack of claimed qualifications/credentials and the likes. And the support team has promised applicants on the waiting list to be ready as replacement for such disqualified applicants.

Meanwhile, the support team has said the verified applicants to wait for the “next communication” or update from them and avoid reading from unofficial sources.
It should be noted that the physical verification which was initially slated to end December 14, has been extended until further notice. Hence, pre-selected candidates can still visit thei…
