Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Jobs: How to Get or Apply for Vacancies

How to Get or Apply for ECOWAS Vacancies

As I’d promised, I won’t share any job updates henceforth, until I’m able to get all needed tweaks, twists and cheats you can use to secure such jobs at the end of the day. What’s the essence of applying for jobs with no results?

Let’s talk about Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Who will not want to spend his active working life with such an international organization with maximum security? But is it that easy? Well, the answer is YES and NO. It all depends on your approach and what you get to offer.

Nothing makes ECOWAS different from any other organizations. They can just be more transparent than others you’ve known. They demand more qualified professionals as the responsibilities before them is no joke. Hence, following to-details instructions in their vacancies is the main tweak you must know of. You must also know what they specifically need in applicants before you make attempt.

What does ECOWAS needs in prospective Applicants?

ECOWAS Jobs Requires Good Working Experience

ECOWAS mainly needs applicants with wealth of experiences for her responsibilities. This is where fresh graduates can be unlucky. Once, you’re done in schools, you only had two experiences you can make references to - your industrial training and NYSC. If however your IT and NYSC is in relation to the vacancies available, you can be favoured. But if your experience is not related, you can only try your luck for fun.

This is why students seeking places for IT must be determined to get perfect responsiblities that will support their future chases. And where you have control over your NYSC place of assignment, tailor it to your focus.

ECOWAS jobs need Bilingual (two or more Languages) Skills

Were you afraid of French while in school? You might have lost something to that. ECOWAS needs people with bilingual abilities or qualifications. All times there’re vacancies, ECOWAS will need bilingual secretaries, interpreters or translators. These positions may be perfect for those who had their degrees in those languages, yet bilingual ability helps applicants for other positions too. It gives them better chance.

ECOWAS Requires More than Degrees

Even where their vacancies require applicants with Degree and HND, they need more than that in practice. And if you’re lucky to have more, you can be given edge over single qualified applicants.

A related condition is the grade. It’s rear to see ECOWAS positions requiring second class upper or lower. I’d seen more of first class than others. Even where lower grades are required, working experiences or post graduate studies will be added advantage.

ECOWAS Jobs require Volunteerism Experiences

Many responsibilities before ECOWAS needs people who had dedicated their past to helping others. If you’re had participated in certain recongnised local or international volunteering projects before now, you can add that to your working experiences and credentials. That will, of course, add feather to you cap.

Disciplines Matters to ECOWAS

Few job seekers from certain disciplines are usually lucky with ECOWAS vacancies. The body may never even need some disciplines. Lucky fields include:  human resources management, languages, medicine, complementary/alternative medicine (e.g. phytotherapy), biochemistry, public health, natural science, anthropology, pharmacy from a recognized university.

How to Apply for ECOWAS Vacancies

Usually, ECOWAS will accept applications with CV, Cover letters and credentials from applicants. Such documents are required to be scanned and sent to specific email address(es). However, this method may change any time. What is more important is to follow application instructions given to you on their vacancies page.

Check my ECOWAS jobs update page to see if they have new vacancies you can apply for or see their official career page.

I welcome your views on ECOWAS jobs in the comment section below.

This is the question several preselected applicants in the 2017 round of Npower scheme had been asking on the body’s official twitter handle. The preselected 2016 N-build applicants are equally concerned about what the next course of action is.
N-power has initially made it clear that not all the 300,000 applicants shortlisted will be eventually selected for the jobs. Some applicants will be disqualified because of certain irregularities including; over-age, lack of claimed qualifications/credentials and the likes. And the support team has promised applicants on the waiting list to be ready as replacement for such disqualified applicants.

Meanwhile, the support team has said the verified applicants to wait for the “next communication” or update from them and avoid reading from unofficial sources.
