Getting back Your WAEC May/June or November/December exams number back

Did you write WAEC this year or some years ago and you lost your candidate’s exams number? Are fining way out of your inability to locate your WAEC examination number? Have you misplaced your WAEC exams number and you need it back?

Anyway, you are not the only one in this mess. Candidates ask me questions and some of these questions can be so funny.

One student just asked WAEC the same,
How can one get back his exam number having lost the exam card? Thanks

Here is the answer from WAEC,
Please, go to our office in the State you sat the exam if it was the WASSCE for Private Candidates or to your school if otherwise.

Let’s break this down.

WAEC exams number consists of ten digits. It is made up of the school or centre number and candidate’s seat or serial number e.g 4340010/098.

In this example, the first seven digits is the centre number and that last three digits is the candidate’s serial or seat number. Combination of these digits is called exams number i.e 4340010098

If you misplaced your WAEC May/June exams number, all you need to do is visit your centre or school where wrote the exams. Your school should have master list of all candidates that sat for exams in that year. They will fetch it for you. Best of luck!

If you’re a private candidate i.e WAEC November/December candidate, you may need to visit the WAEC office of the state where your exams was written.

Special Methods to get back a lost WAEC examination Number

If you still remember your serial or seat member but you have lost the centre number and you’re school candidate i.e May/June candidate, follow these steps
Step 2: Use Ctrl+F to launch “find” command while the document is opened
Step 3: Type the name of your school as briefly or the town name for the centre inside the search box.
Step 4: Hit enter key on your keyboard or search button
Step 5: The command will highlight your school and you should see the centre number correspond to it.

Now you can combine the centre number with your seat number (already known).

Another method is if you know any of your class mates who still have the centre number. Call and ask for help.

Ok, the page is getting lengthy, I'm sorry. But I can take you to the next page for official WAEC answers to questions. If you're yet to get answer to your questions, kindly click on the next set of answer here.
