Fresh students during matriculation
We recently updated that UI was set to allow admission seekers to check their admission status on February 13. Unfortunately, due some logistics, the school could not make that possible until February 16. This was duly apologized by the registrar

Meanwhile, all applicants can now check their admission status on the university of Ibadan portal; after this, make an acceptance fee payment of N35,000.

Below is all information you must take note

PAYMENT OF ACCEPTANCE FEES
This is to inform all candidates who have printed their admission letters, that due to some technical reasons, the payment portal has not been opened as earlier stated. The portal will now open from Friday 16 February 2018 to 8 March 2018.

To make the payment, follow the steps below
  1. Note that payment of acceptance fee is online
  2. Click here to visit UI admission portal
  3. Enter you log in details i.e JAMB registration umber and the password chosen during post UTME registration.
  4. Sign in and on the next page you should see congratulatory message if you've been given admission
  5. Then follow the procedures below you page for payment of acceptance fee.

This is to inform all candidates who have been offered provisional admission in the 2017/2018 UTME / Direct Entry admission exercise that the admission list is now available on the admission portal of the candidates on www.admissions.ui.edu.ng

Candidates who have accepted / printed their letters of admission are advised to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of Thirty-Five Thousand Naira only (N35, 000.00) using the approved payment mode.

The payment portal will open from Tuesday, 13 February 2018 to 6 March 2018.
Candidates whose admission has been approved, but yet to be accepted are advised to proceed to Jamb Portal to accept the offer on CAPS. They cannot pay the acceptance fee until they have accepted and printed their admission letters.

University of Ibadan Latest Updates: No. of candidates admitted, when to expect list etc

The University of Ibadan on Wednesday said it recommended 3,783 candidates to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for admission for the 2017/2018 academic session.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC), Academics, Prof. Adeyinka Aderinto, disclosed this at a briefing with newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan.

He said the figure was out of the 56,172 applicants who chose the university through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry.

According to Aderinto, the admission for 2017/2018 will end in January 2018, while screening of those already issued admission letters will soon commence.

The DVC, who noted that a total of 26,769 candidates who scored 200 and above sat for the Post-UTME of the university, added that out of the number, only 9,268 scored 50 per cent and above.

Aderinto said 3,783, who were finally recommended to JAMB for admission met the approved admission criteria.

The University of Ibadan admission list is finally out and here is the procedure to follow in order to know if you’re lucky.

  1. As at now, you can only see you admission status through JAMB CAPS. Hence, you will need log into you JAMB profile with your JAMB profile email and its password
  2. At the left side of you dashboard, click on the CAPS link
  3. This will take you to a page where you can click on check admission status
  4. There you should be able to see if you have been recommended for admission by UI
  5. Accept the admission by clicking on the “Accept” button
  6. After this, go back to your dashboard home and click on check admission status
  7. Take the current year in the dropdown (list of years)
  8. Then, enter you JAMB registration number
  9. Click on Check status
  10. You should be congratulated on your admission
  11. In case you are yet to be admitted, you only need to be checking back as this process is a continual exercise till the end of admission year.

2017/18 University Of Ibadan, Ibadan Direct Entry Admission Exercise

This is to inform DIRECT ENTRY candidates who made University of Ibadan their first choice, that the University website will be open on Monday, 02 October, 2017 to Friday, 13 October, 2017 for the online submission of their bio-data, SSCE/NECO/ O’L, GCE A’L, NCE/ND/HND results through https://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng.
LOGIN INSTRUCTION
(a) Candidates are required to log-in to the Admissions Portal using their Jamb registration Number as their username and their surname as their password e.g 69453281 PG ADEKOYA (surname) Kenechukwu Garba.  The admission processing fee is N2,000.00 only.  This should be paid through the Admission portal in favour of University of Ibadan (Admission Processing fee account).  Candidate’s name, JAMB Registration number, telephone Number and E’mail Address should be quoted at the point of payment.

(b) Payment Option
  •     Credit/Debit card payment using ATM card;
  •     Cash at bank using the printout from the portal to make payment at the bank;
  •     Direct bank Account debit whereby internet banking tools are used to make payment.

Candidates are expected to print the payment success receipt which should display full names of the candidate as in the Direct Entry form slip preceded by the JAMB registration Number, as the payee and the payment reference number showing success message.  Upon successful payment, candidates should proceed on the portal to submit their bio-data and all credentials (SSCE/NECO O’L, GCE A’L. NCE/ND/HND).


Candidates are advised to fill the online forms carefully, following all instructions, as “mistake(s)”may lead to disqualification.  Candidates are expected to upload their photographs and signatures.  The image format for the passport and signature is JPEG and must not exceed 50KB.The photographs must be clean, clear and without glasses.

Candidates are then to print the evidence of completion of transaction and keep for further reference.

An online help desk platform on https://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng/helpdesk will be available to handle all genuine enquiries.  Misrepresentation/falsification of documents is a serious offence.  Candidates are therefore advised to submit genuine documents only.  Anyone found guilty of this offence will be disqualified automatically and in appropriate cases be handed over to the Law Enforcement Agencies.  Candidates are strongly advised to adhere strictly to the guidelines stipulated above for successful completion of the online submissions.

NOTICE TO CANDIDATES WHO CHANGED COURSES/INSTITUTION TO UI
This is to inform candidates who either changed courses or Institution to University of Ibadan on the JAMB website that the print out of the change is yet to be forwarded to the University.   

Candidates in this category may therefore not find their names on the University website or where they find it, the change might not have been effected in the ongoing login exercise.

A new print out is being expected from JAMB.  Affected candidates are therefore advised to exercise patience until the University receives the print out, and candidates’ details are placed on the website.

By interpretation, this means that:
1. Candidates that had earlier changed to University of Ibadan but unable to log in to proceed to post UTME registration, should wait patiently as they will be able to do it very sooner. And UI admission screening will not close until they receive your list and upload it to their admission portal. I encourage you to keep logging to the admission portal to see if they have added your information soon. 

2. Any candidates who wish to change to university of Ibadan can still do it as soon as possible so that when Jamb send the second list to the school, you can be among.

Start TODAY: University of Ibadan, UI Post-UTME now opened

This is to inform candidates who made the University of Ibadan their institution of first choice and scored 200 and above in the 2017 UTME that the University website will be open on Monday, 04 September, 2017 to Friday, 23 September, 2017 for the submission of their bio-data and SSCE/NECO results online through https://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng.
The deadline for submission of bio-data / O/level results may not be extended. Therefore, any candidate whose bio-data are not submitted within the stipulated time will not be considered for Post-UTME Screening and for admission.

PAYMENT INSTRUCTION

(a) Candidates are required to log-in to the Admission Portal (https://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng) using their Jamb Registration Number as their user name and their surname as their password e.g. 65345521EG OYEKANMI (Surname) Afolabi Mary. The screening fee is N2,000.00. This should be paid through the ADMISSION PORTAL in favour of University of Ibadan (Admission Processing Fee Account). Candidate’s Name, JAMB Registration Number, Telephone Number and E-mail Address should be quoted at the point of payment.
Payment Options:
  1. Credit/Debit Card Payment using ATM card;
  2. Cash at bank using the printout from the portal to make payment at the bank; and
  3. Direct bank account debit whereby you use your internet banking tools to make payment.
Candidates are expected to print the payment success receipt which should display full names of the candidate (SURNAME first) as in the UTME result slip preceded by the JAMB Registration Number, as the payee and the payment reference number showing the success message.
(b) Upon successful payment, candidates should proceed on the portal to submit their bio-data and O/level results.
(c) Candidates should ensure that the online forms are carefully filled, following ALL necessary instructions, as “mistake(s)” may lead to disqualification.
(d) Please fill the online forms in CAPITAL letters only.
(e) Candidates are expected to upload their passport photographs and signatures. The image format for the passport and signature is JPEG and must not exceed 50kb. The photographs must be clean, clear and without glasses.
(f) Candidates are then to print the evidence of completion of transaction and keep for further reference.
(g) An online help desk platform on http://www.admissions.ui.edu.ng/helpdesk will be available to handle all genuine enquiries.

DATE OF POST UTME

The date for the post UTME will be communicated to candidates through their email addresses and SMS. Candidates are, therefore, advised to provide valid and active email addresses and phone numbers. The University will not take responsibility for failure to get information as a result of invalid email addresses and wrong phone numbers.
Misrepresentation/falsification of documents is a serious offence. Candidates are, therefore, advised to submit genuine documents only. Anyone found guilty of this offence will be disqualified automatically and in appropriate cases, be handed over to the Law Enforcement Agencies.

University of Ibadan, UI sets for Post-UTME with 200 and above cut-off mark

Are you aspirants of the University of Ibadan? Do you have a friend or family seeking admission into the institution this year? This is to inform prospective candidates who made University of Ibadan their first choice, parents and other stakeholders that following the Policy meeting chaired by the Honourable Minister of Education in Abuja on Tuesday, 22 August, 2017, the 2017/18 admission exercise in the University will commence very soon. Candidates are therefore requested to note the criteria for the admission exercise as listed below:

UTME CUT-OFF POINT FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN

The Institutional UTME cut-off point for the University is still 200 marks. Therefore, only candidates who scored 200 and above are eligible to participate in the screening exercise that will take place at a time to be announced later. For the avoidance of doubt, any candidate with a score below 200 will not be considered for the screening.

POST UTME SCREENING OF UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN

Candidates are requested to note that a written post UTME screening exercise will be held at a date to be communicated very soon. To this effect, candidates are advised to be on the lookout for the date and other modalities for the written test. The authentic website from which all details about the post UTME exercise can be obtained is http://www.ui.edu.ng. The University will not take any responsibility for any misleading and fraudulent information that may be obtained from any other website apart from the official University website.

CENTRAL ADMISSION PROCESSING SYSTEM (CAPS)

The 2017/18 admission exercise will be based on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), a system designed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to automate the admissions process to tertiary institutions. The system introduces a number of innovations into the admission process. These include opportunities for candidates to confirm provisional admissions thus eliminating cases of multiple admission or ignorance about admission status. Candidates are therefore advised to familiarize themselves with the process to enable them check and track their admission status at any point in time on the JAMB portal.

LOGIN IN OF BIODATA.

Candidates will be able to login their biodata, prelude the post UTME screening with effect from the last week in August, 2017. Candidates should therefore be on the lookout for the opening of the portal. Please note that there will not be any extension to the closing date of the portal as the University is running behind schedule.

After Npower physical verification, What Next?

This is the question several preselected applicants in the 2017 round of Npower scheme had been asking on the body’s official twitter handle. The preselected 2016 N-build applicants are equally concerned about what the next course of action is.
N-power has initially made it clear that not all the 300,000 applicants shortlisted will be eventually selected for the jobs.
