Understand JAMB CAPS messages “Welcome”, “Not Admitted”,” Admission in Progress”, “Admission in Approved”,” Congratulation you have Offered Admission”

Meaning of JAMB CAPS messages “Welcome”, “Not Admitted”,” Admission in Progress”,  “Admission in Approved”,” Congratulation you have Offered Admission”

JAMB is taking admission serious with her CAPS. In case you don’t know, CAPS is Central Admission Processing. This is the medium designed for all schools to submit the lists of their to-be-admitted students for JAMB to process the admission letters and other related details.

CAPS is equally meant for students to follow up the progress of their admissions. Hence, every student will have to log in to his/her JAMB profile with his/her profile email and its password. Then, click on CAPS and see the admission progress.

However, many students had been thrown into confusion because they weren't able to understand some messages they’re receiving each time they check their JAMB CAPS admission progress.

Below is the explanation for each of the likely messages you may see in your JAMB CAPS

1. Welcome: Some applicants have checked their JAMB CAPS but could not see any other words than “WELCOME” This can mostly occur when you use phone to check. This means your device (most especially phone) is not capable of displaying other information in your CAPS. In this situation, kindly switch your device or use a laptop or computer instead.

2. Not Admitted: This is a plain message to tell you that you have not been admitted by any school yet. In this situation, always check back to see when your proposed school send your own name for processing. Meanwhile, this doesn’t mean you will not be admitted eventually. It only means, you have not been considered yet.

3. Admission in Progress: This is good news. Your proposed school has sent your name for admission consideration and all works are in progress to be approved for admission.

4. Admission is Approved: This means your admission had approved and you can in few days expect a congratulatory message form JAMB on the CAPS status.

5. Accept or Reject Admission: Here, you have a choice to accept admission from the school shown to you or reject it. If you accept, you can immediately be congratulated on your admission or you may have to wait a few days before you can finally be admitted. In case you reject it, it means you will have to wait for another school to offer you admission.

6. Congratulation you have been Offered Admission: When you get this message, you’re a champ already. Accept my congratulations too. You’re now admitted and you can go on to check your admission status for the admission year and print your JAMB admission letter.

N-power has initially made it clear that not all the 300,000 applicants shortlisted will be eventually selected for the jobs.
