Understanding NPOWER "Sorry! No matching record found in the pre-selection database"

Sorry! No matching record found in the pre-selection database page screeshot
Is that the message you received while trying to check your Npower pre-selection status? If yes, you are not the only one in this mess. There’s no doubt, more applicants will see this message than the congratulatory message. But what does it really mean? Does it mean, this is the end of your journey in the N-power job chase? Or it means a temporary problem or a system error from N-power? This post sheds more light on this.

First, all applicants should note that, the only official link to check N-power pre-selection status is http://check.npvn.ng/#/preSelectionStatus or just http://check.npvn.ng

If you an applicant who got the message “Sorry! No matching record found in the pre-selection database” while checking your selection status, consider these possibilities:
  1. It could mean you had entered wrong BVN. To check your status, you would have to enter you BNV in the search box provided, then click search. Hence, if you receive that error, please recheck your BVN and see that it is very correct before you give up. To check your BVN directly on your phone at cost of #20, send the short code *565*0#. You have to dial this code on the phone number you used for your BVN registration
  2. If after you have done the right thing, all you still have is “Sorry! No matching record found in the pre-selection database”, that means you’re not selected to proceed to the next stage. But is that the end?
  3. No, it’s not! In the 2016 application, N-power released two lists in total. There’s need to release another list, when they rejected some candidates during verification. Some successful applicants were equally delisted for non-appearance at their places of assignment. Hence, N-power needed to fill their spaces, then begot 2nd list.
  4. There’s no official update yet, as to whether they will surely release another list, yet you must be optimistic and be at alert. The bad news was that, majority of people shortlisted in the 2nd batch list of 2016 were not aware their names were finally out till today. This is while you must be following updates on N-power
  5. When an applicant asked N-power "What about people who will not pass the physical verification? How will u fill up their space?" N-power replied, "We will pick from the waiting list sir."

Why N-Power Teach Applicants can’t log in for online test

Are you N-teach applicant trying to log in to your N-power test page but it’s telling you “invalid log in details”? Have you been trying got log in to write your test since August 2 announced for N-teach test? Do you just want to log in to see when your own test is scheduled to hold?

The post below is all you need to read. Please read to the end.

It’s becoming frustrating for some N-teach applicants to log in to their test dashboard in order to do test or to see their information at all.

This, you must know, is normal. No need for panic. And here is why.

N-Power had announced August 2 as the starting date for N-teach test but just a day to that, they released a new date which is now August 9.

However, some applicants are yet to be aware of this change. Here you have it if you have not heard.

Also, some applicants who were even aware of the change were continually making attempts to log on to the test page. But all efforts could only return the same error “invalid log in details”

The question, is why making attempts to log in when your test had not started?

N-power will not allow you to log in until August 9 (if there is no new extension). Hence, wait till that date before making attempt to log in at all.

If however, by time test starts for N-teach and you can’t log in again. It may mean that you BVN doesn’t match with your information and you can’t continue in the programme any longer. Sorry dude!

Such applicant can keep trying to log in until the end of the N-teach test schedule, perhaps, you can be lucky.

You can equally be among applicants that will be scheduled for new date, perhaps because you registered a bit later that July 13 which was the first closing date announced for application.

After Npower physical verification, What Next?

This is the question several preselected applicants in the 2017 round of Npower scheme had been asking on the body’s official twitter handle. The preselected 2016 N-build applicants are equally concerned about what the next course of action is.
N-power has initially made it clear that not all the 300,000 applicants shortlisted will be eventually selected for the jobs. Some applicants will be disqualified because of certain irregularities including; over-age, lack of claimed qualifications/credentials and the likes. And the support team has promised applicants on the waiting list to be ready as replacement for such disqualified applicants.

Meanwhile, the support team has said the verified applicants to wait for the “next communication” or update from them and avoid reading from unofficial sources.
It should be noted that the physical verification which was initially slated to end December 14, has been extended until further notice. Hence, pre-selected candidates can still visit thei…
