2017/2018 Orientation Programme For Fresh UTME and Direct Entry Students – University Of Lagos

The 2017/2018 Orientation programme for Fresh UTME and Direct Entry students is scheduled to hold between Monday, February 12, 2018 and Sunday, February 18, 2018.

Tuesday, February 13, 2018 Orientation lectures & guided tour of the campus.

1.00 p.m. Group 2 - Library tour Wednesday, February 14, 2018 Orientation lectures & guided tour of the campus.

9.00 a.m. Female team of group one versus female team of group two.

1.00 p.m. Male team of Group one versus male team of Group two Friday, February 16, 2018 Grand Finale; Breakfast with Principal Officers of the University.

The programme will run in two sessions concurrently.

While one group attends orientation lectures, the second group will be on campus tour and vice versa.

The take-off point for the campus tour is the frontage of the Main Auditorium.

FRESH: University of Lagos (UNILAG) Released New Admssion List

This is to inform the general public, especially the concerned candidates seeking admission into the University of Lagos that the school has just released another admission list. Are you one of the UNILAG admission seekers thinking admission has ended for the institution? You may love to know that another list is in the air.

Following the CAPS introduced by JAMB, it seems releasing of admission list is now a continual process. Hence all applicants should endeavour to recheck their JAMB CAPS for this updated list immediately. Please see the important notice below

Important Notice
Please note as follows:
  1. You will need your JAMB email and its password to check CAPS. See how to check CAPS here
  2. If you’re using a mobile device, consider using Chrome. Chrome is reported to be opening the website correctly (especially if your own device is only showing “Welcome” only)
  3. If you still see “welcome” only, go to your chrome browser menu and choose “show desktop view”. That should show all other hidden details.
  4. Accept admission on CAPS and if you have been offered a different course, do change of course within the given ultimatum.

New UNILAG Post-UTME Dates Announced. See it here

The University Management has rescheduled 2017/2018 Post UTME Aptitude Test to hold from Wednesday 4th to Friday 6th October, 2017.

Candidates should generate new examination passes from Thursday 28th September, 2017 and come to the test venue with two coloured copies of the examination passes.

GSM phones and other personal belongings are not allowed in the test venues.

UNILAG Post-UTME/Admission Screening Form Now on Sales

The University of Lagos online registration for the Post-UTME Screening Exercise for Admission into ALL COURSES/PROGRAMMES for the 2017/2018 Academic Year will commence from 31st August – 15th September, 2017.

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

Candidates who made University of Lagos their first choice in the 2017/2018 UTME and scored 200 and above are eligible for screening.  In addition, candidates must possess five (5) credit passes at one sitting in relevant O/level subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

Candidates, who will not be sixteen (16) years of age by 31st October, 2017 are not eligible and need not apply.

Candidates who do not participate in the Post-UTME Screening will not be considered for admission.

SCREENING FEE – N2,000

UNILAG Post UTME REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

Eligible candidates should log on to University of Lagos website https://unilag.edu.ng  Then, take the following steps:
  1. Click on Admissions
  2. Click on Post-UTME Application
  3. Login with UTME number as username and surname in lowercase as password
  4. Generate and print payment advice
  5. Proceed to any commercial bank to make payment or pay online
  6. Return to the University portal, upload passport photograph and complete the application form
  7. Print Post-UTME Examination Pass

UNILAG POST-UTME TEST SCHEDULE

Post-UTME aptitude test will hold between 18th and 22nd September, 2017.

UNILAG 2017/2018 Admission Exercise Update

Are you seeking admission to University of Lagos, UNILAG this year? Do you know a friend or family seeking admission to the citadel? It has come to the notice of the University authorities that a text message is being circulated which advertised that the on-line registration for the 2017/2018 Screening Exercise for admission will commence from Wednesday, August 9th to Wednesday, August 31st, 2017.

This is a scam. The message did not emanate from the University of Lagos.

Members of the public are advised to ignore this message as the University of Lagos has not commenced the 2017/2018 Admission Exercise.

The University website is the only authentic source of information on admissions.

UNILAG GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Admission into FULL-TIME undergraduate programmes is ONLY through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE).
  2. Candidate must possess five (5) credits in O’Level or its equivalent as required by the Department of interest.
  3. Candidates must obtain a minimum of 200 points in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Candidate's details must have been forwarded to University of Lagos by Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
  4. Candidate must sit for the University POST-UTME Examination and must obtain the required minimum score.
  5. The University Admissions Office processes FULL-TIME admission into undergraduate programmes ONLY. Admission into other programmes like Foundation, Diploma, Distance Learning Institute (DLI), Post-graduate and evening programmes are handled by other organs of the University.
  6. Candidate must have reached the AGE of SIXTEEN (16) by the 31st day of OCTOBER in the year of admission.

UNILAG VERIFICATION OF RESULT

  • All prospective candidates who possess international certificates such as Cambridge Ordinary/Advance Level, Edexcel International GSCE, should apply fro verification of their results from the examining bodies. The verified results should be forwarded to ther Registrar, University of Lagos, Senate Building, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria.
  • Any candidate whose result is not verified or found to be forged could have his or her admission terminated.

Mount Kenya University (MKU) will start a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree; Accepting  Diploma in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology Mount Kenya University (MKU) will start a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree for students progressing from Diploma in Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology following the approval of its plan by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

The progression study will be known as Bachelor of Pharmacy (Diploma Entry) Programme.

The PPB, in approving the MKU implementation plan for the programme in January, indicated that the arrangement was in tandem with its credit waiver policy guidelines for progression from diploma in pharmacy or pharmaceutical technology to bachelor of pharmacy degree.

After Npower physical verification, What Next?

This is the question several preselected applicants in the 2017 round of Npower scheme had been asking on the body’s official twitter handle. The preselected 2016 N-build applicants are equally concerned about what the next course of action is.
N-power has initially made it clear that not all the 300,000 applicants shortlisted will be eventually selected for the jobs. Some applicants will be disqualified because of certain irregularities including; over-age, lack of claimed qualifications/credentials and the likes.
