Programmes Offered by the Polytechnic Ibadan

For each academic year, the polytechnic opens the following programmes for prospective admission seekers.
1.    National Diploma (ND) Full-time: To apply for this programme, an applicant must have written JAMB UTME. This is an exams conducted by Joint Admission Matriculation Board to recommend candidates for full-time admission into various institutions across the nation. Admission seeker into any available courses must meet up with national cut-off mark declared for polytechnics which from experience is between 150 to 180. The polytechnic also has departmental cut off marks for each courses. At the end of the two year course, you will be awarded National Diploma Certificate. This certification can be used to obtain HND form of the school or any other after completion of one year industrial training. Also, you can use it for Direct Entry admission into universities of your choice through JAMB. Here, if admitted, you will be in 200 level instead of 100 level for UTME applicants.
2.    National Diploma (ND) Part-time (daily): This is also a two-year programme. Hence, you can proceed to HND with this be it full-time or part-time HND. A candidate can equally further to universities through JAMB Direct Entry Form but with JAMB regularization registration first.
3.    Higher National Diploma (HND) Full-time: The Polytechnic Ibadan equally opens admission for applicants who already possessed ND certificate and wish to further in the course or related one. HND form is only obtainable after one year industrial training for applicants who had distinction, upper credit or lower credit at their ND level; but two years industrial training for applicants who had pass at their ND level.
4.    Higher National Diploma (HND) Daily Part-time: The polytechnic also runs HND daily part-time programme which is 2-year of four semesters like in full-time. The only difference is while full-time HND holders will be proceeding to NYSC one year service, their daily part-time counterparts won’t.
5.    Post-HND: The polytechnic equally opens opportunity for HND holders to further to advance diploma course in related courses. This is a programme very rear in other polytechnics but with limited available courses. Applicant should see the school website for the list of advertised courses for the current admission year.
