Use Awaiting Results for UTME: How to Fill and Upload of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB

Filling and Uploading of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB Awaiting Results to JAMB Portal

First, if you're still in secondary school i.e SS1, SS 2 or SS 3, you may want to consider writing JAMB UTME if you think you're fit. But you haven't written or have WAEC, NECO or NABTEB results yet. That's cool if you're intending to write one which you hope will be ok for admission and you believe such result must have been released before the admission year ends.

In this case, you can obtain UTME and use awaiting results while filling the form. This is also the case for secondary school leavers who have one or two deficiencies in their already gotten SSCE results but had just written another they waiting its results to be released. They can also obtain JAMB UTME and fill in awaiting results.

So what must happen immediately your O'level result is released? Read on!

During JAMB UTME registration, some candidates obtained the form on “awaiting results” basis. In other words, students who wrote WAEC, NECO, NABTEB for the admission year still obtained JAMB but without filling their O’level grades because such results are to be written later or results not yet released. Hence, when these results are finally released, such applicants can then use them for admission purpose.

Are you one of such students who used awaiting results for this year UTME registration? Is your WAEC, NECO, NABTEB result out and all needed grades achieved? Are you finding means to now upload your results to JAMB portal so that it can be considered for the admission purpose?

I get you explanation.

It is not new that candidates seeking admission to higher institutions in Nigeria can obtain UTME while filling awaiting results. But the most confusing thing for students is whether it compulsory for them to upload their O’level results after such results have been released. And if they must upload the results, how and where?

As the matter of fact, JAMB didn't have provision for that some years a go. But now, UTME candidates who used awaiting results to upload their released results can now proceed back to CBT centre to upload their SSCE results earlier awaited.
Candidates don’t have to panic for this. This is because; the only place where your O’level results and UTME results are needed is during the admission screening registration or Post-UTME screening. But to be on safer side, do the uploading as soon as it convenient for you also at CBT centre.
Each institution will equally require you to upload your results either by filling, scanning and uploading or even both during the admission screening registration.

Hence, be at alert for to the time your proposed schools start selling their admission screening forms. Obtain the form, fill and/or upload your O’level results during Post UTME or admission screening exercise.

That’s all.

Meanwhile, candidates who filled their O’level results during JAMB UTME registration will equally obtain their school admission screening form and upload their results on the school portal as well. They don't need to go back to CBT centre for uploading of their results unless otherwise announced or instructed by JAMB.

However, if after your SSCE result is released, you don't have the required grades for your proposed course, you don't need to upload again. This is because is of no use if the 5 credit passes (at least) you need for your course are not met up.

Except otherwise stated in JAMB brochure, no school - be it, university, polytechnic or colleges of education will accept any results less than 5 credit passes in NECO, WAEC or NABTEB.
